Football Recap: Wells Leopards vs. Carlin Railroaders
By Team Reports
Aug 31, 2025, 10:44 am
Wells was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 26-13 to the Carlin Railroaders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Leopards of the 50-28 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.
Although Wells took the loss, they still got scores from Marcus Uhart and Justice Nelson.
Even if they lost, Wells' defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Uhart, Henry Morris, and Joe Dahl, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Dylan Ramirez was a one-man wrecking crew for Carlin, as he rushed for 221 yards and two TDs while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. Ramirez's rushing production has been exceptional recently as he marked his third straight game with at least 162 rushing yards, dating back to last season. Gage Lewis was another key player, gaining 184 total yards and a touchdown.
Wells' loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Carlin 26
Wells 13
We've got plenty of interleague action coming up soon. Wells is set to take on their familiar foe, Virginia City, at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Carlin will square off against rival McDermitt at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
Please only drop off wood items for the bonfire.
