Football Recap: Wells Piles Up the Points Against Owyhee
By Team Reports
Oct 16, 2024, 9:48am
On Friday, Wells faced Owyhee in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Wells Leopards blew past the Owyhee Braves, posting a 46-0 victory at home. Considering the Leopards have won three games by more than 31 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Johnny Glascock had a dynamite game for Wells, rushing for 75 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Uhlig, who gained 112 total yards and a touchdown.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Wells was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 301 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Wells didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Glascock and Jake Glascock.
The win made it two in a row for Wells and bumps their season record up to 3-4. As for Owyhee, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wells will venture away from home to take on Virginia City at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wells is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 34 points per game this season.
