From March 2–5, Herzog traveled across the district visiting Northside, Jackpot, Owyhee, Carlin, Liberty Peak, Spring Creek, Mountain View, Southside, and Grammar #2 Elementary Schools. Students learned about creativity, imagination, and how even a single detail can change the direction of a story.
One unforgettable moment happened at Mountain View Elementary, where a student named Luke eagerly approached Brad after the presentation to share a book he had written. Brad took time to look through Luke’s work and encourage him to keep writing — a powerful reminder of how inspiring moments like these can spark confidence and creativity in young authors.

Wells had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Laughlin Cougars by a score of 23-22 on Friday. The Leopards were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2025.
Tristen Zimmerman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Aguilar, who went 3-for-6 with four stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs

Wells won the last time they faced Indian Springs and things went their way on Saturday too. The Leopards were the clear victors by a 19-3 margin over the Thunderbirds. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Leopards.
Charley Peterson made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Wells hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Indian Springs struck out ten times.
Wells now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Indian Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Wells will venture away from home to face off against Pyramid Lake at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. This will be the Leopards' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
Friday, Feb 27, 2026: Wells defeated Laughlin High School 23-12!
Saturday, Feb 28, 2026: Wells took down Indian Springs High School 14-4!
Amazing back-to-back wins! Keep up the great work, Lady Leopards! 🐆⚾

Wells had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Laughlin Cougars 23-12 on Friday. The Leopards not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 3, 2025 (when they won 16-1).
Adriana Aguilar was a standout: she fired off three triples, five runs, and four RBI while going 5-for-5. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. Grace Otto was another key player, going 3-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Wells kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 24 hits. They got five more hits than Laughlin's also-impressive total of 19.

Wells lost to Indian Springs back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Leopards blew past the Thunderbirds 14-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Leopards.
Aryanna Rodriguez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Wells got a massive performance out of Jitzel Rivas, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and one triple. Andreina Mercado was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Wells kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. They got six more hits than Indian Springs' also-impressive total of 13.
Wells' record is now 2-0.
