After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Carlin, Wells was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They took down the Pyramid Lake Lakers 52-36. This was payback for the Leopards, who suffered a 44-8 loss the last time these two teams met.

Rushing Touchdowns (Career)

10/09/25 @ Carlin 1
09/25/25 vs Eureka 1
10/11/24 vs Owyhee 1
10/04/24 vs Varsity Opponent 1
Wells was led to victory by Johnny Glascock and Gage Uhlig. Glascock rushed for 123 yards and two scores on only 11 carries, while Uhlig rushed for 69 yards and three TDs. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Uhlig a new career-high.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Wells was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 364 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 187 rushing yards in six consecutive games.
The win got Wells back to even at 4-4. As for Pyramid Lake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wells will host Mineral County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Serpents will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Leopards surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pyramid Lake, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Coleville at 6:00 p.m. The Lakers will be up against the Wolves' rather soft defense (which has allowed 53 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.

**The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA) and Ingraham Trophies are proud to release the
Academic Team Champions for Fall 2024. Congratulations to all schools, especially the overall sport and
classification winners! The NIAA Academic Team State Championship celebrates teamwork not only in sports
competitions but also in the classroom.
This recognition acknowledges teams in the Association’s sanctioned and recognized sports and identifies an
Academic State Champion in each classification based on unweighted grade point averages (GPA) for full varsity
teams participating in sanctioned sports.
The NIAA and Ingraham Trophies also recognize varsity student-athletes with a 4.0 unweighted GPA from the
previous semester by naming them to the All-State Academic Team. The NIAA and Ingraham Trophies
commend all our student-athletes for their dedication and hard work on and off the fields of competition.

Congrats to Jitzel Rivas for a 4.0 GPA!
Proud to be a Leopard! 🐾
**The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA), the governing body of high school sports
in the Silver State, is proud to present a special award each year to the team with the highest grade point average in each sport classification.
The NIAA also recognizes varsity student-athletes who achieved a 4.0 grade point average (GPA) the previous semester by naming them to the All-State Academic Team.
The team GPA is determined using varsity team members' unweighted GPAs from the last semester and computing an overall GPA.
The NIAA considers the State Academic Championship award equal to the Athletic Championship award. As the NIAA’s coaches and administrators always stress, the participants are students first, then athletes.
