"Together, we can prevent child abuse, America...Because childhood lasts a lifetime."
Pinwheels for Prevention
Our elementary students took part in a balloon release today to bring awareness to the movement to end child abuse in America.
" Children who are raised with safe, stable, and nurturing relationships and environments are more academically and financially successful and grow up to be productive, contributing members of their communities. Pinwheels are a reminder that we all play a role in children’s lives."
The 8th-grade students are currently selling limited-edition ball caps with the Leopards Logo embroidered on them. The caps are priced at $25 each, and there are only a few left in stock. Wells Leopards vs. Eureka Vandals
Wells came tearing into Wednesday's game with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.4 runs) and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Eureka Vandals onto the board and left with a 15-0 win. Considering Wells has won 11 matches by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Teagan Calton and Cesar Berumen were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Calton tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Berumen tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive pitching appearances. At bat, Calton scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2, while Berumen went 1-for-2 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sam Peterson, who went 1-for-1 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. Anton Messna was another key contributor, going 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Wells' victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2. As for Eureka, they haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wells will take on Smith Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Smith Valley knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with flashy run totals in its past nine contests -- so hopefully Wells likes a good challenge. As for Eureka, they will be playing at home against Tonopah at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

WARD COATES INVITE
The members of FBLA, Future Business Leaders of America, embarked on an exciting journey to explore the grounds of the University of Utah. The purpose of their visit was to take a comprehensive tour of the campus, learning about its many academic programs and state-of-the-art facilities. The students were thrilled to gain an in-depth understanding of the university's culture, values, and history, and left feeling inspired and motivated to pursue their own academic and professional goals.
The Track & Field team went to Tooele, Utah to participate in the Buffalo Stampede Invite on Friday, April 12th. Congratulations to our Leopards on their accomplishments at the meet.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Relief Society organization from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for their incredibly kind gesture of donating hygiene kits to our students at Wells Combined School. The kits included items such as combs or brushes, toothbrushes and toothpaste, deodorant, body wash, and feminine hygiene products. We can't thank them enough for their generosity!
In our PAES Lab-Practical Assessment Exploration System – a work development lab where students become employees and teachers become employers, Mrs. Shamblin has our students working on some fantastic projects!

Wells Leopards vs. Eureka Vandals
April 15, 2024
Wells has enjoyed the comforts of home in their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Eureka Vandals at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wells knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with flashy run totals in its past 12 contests -- so hopefully Eureka likes a good challenge.
Even though Eureka scored an imposing 12 runs in Friday's second game, Wells still came out on top. Wells sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-12 win over Eureka.
Sam Peterson looked comfortable as he tossed an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits (he also didn't allow any walks).
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Adam Eggleston, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and a triple. Colter Runion was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Wells pushed their record up to 13-2 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Eureka, they haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
