Wells Varsity Boys Baseball Recap
The Leopards had a strong showing against Carlin on April 15, picking up two wins. Wells took the first game 19-3 and followed it up with another victory, 14-6.
On April 18, Wells faced White Pine at home and came up short, falling 18-8.
The team continues to compete hard as they move forward in the season.

Wells dropped down to 16-7 on Saturday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the White Pine Bobcats, falling 18-8. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Leopards of the 10-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.
Gage Uhlig made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Garcia, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
As for White Pine, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-4. Considering they have won seven matchups by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
On White Pine's side, Maddox Sedlacek made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sedlacek has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacob Derbidge, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with one home run, five runs, and two doubles. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Jacob Hall, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
