SPRING CREEK — In its first action of the season, the Spring Creek track and field team got off to a good start.
On their home track, the Spring Creek boys and girls won the team standings — the Spartans scoring 249 points and the Lady Spartans posting 160.
Elko’s girls followed closely in second with 151 points — nine points off the pace — Wells capped the top five with 57.5 points, Carlin ranked sixth with 34 and Jackpot capped the seven-team with eight points.
On the boys side, the Indians were second with 99 points — 150 behind the Spartans — Wells finished fourth with 71, Carlin took sixth with 24 and Independence closed off the seven-team field with 14.
