TWIN FALLS, Idaho — On Sept. 19, Wells sophomore Mille Cromley crossed the finish line with room to spare.

During the Dani Bates Invitational, Cromley claimed the victory in the junior varsity girls race with a time of 21:23.16 and opened a margin of more than eight seconds ahead of second place.

For Spring Creek, sophomore Kelly Mortensen finished 48th in 24:11.23.

Wells junior April Bochman crossed the line with a time of 24:27.83 for 55th.

The Elko County field was capped with a 73rd-place 26:19.87 for Spring Creek sophomore Gabrielle Rodriguez.

Junior Varsity Boys 22:00 or Less

In the varsity boys division — 22:00 or less — Spring Creek ranked fourth in the team standings with 126 points.

Sophomore Tate Adams led the Spartans in 19th place with a time of 19:10.27.

Senior Boyce Turpin ran a 19:31.80 for 34th place, and Spring Creek pushed two across the line in order in 40th and 41st as sophomore Soren Dastrup and junior Jared Tilger tallied times of 19:39.92 and 19:43.81, respectively.

In 43rd, junior Luis Bradley closed his run in 19:45.02.

Sophomore Traven Dastrup finished in 19:53.50 and rounded off the top 50.

For Wells, junior Mason Noorda clocked in at 19:57.09 for 52nd place.

Spring Creek sophomore Bryson Thompson stopped the clock in 20:06.07 at 59th, and senior Colsen Moore ranked 74th with a time of 20:23.60.

For the Leopards, junior Marcos Cobian ran a 20:50.17 for 95th.

Spring Creek freshman Braylon Preece rounded off the roster and the top 100 with a time of 20:52.75.

Wells sophomore Jayden Kiser closed out the Elko County athletes in 21:04.03 in 107th place.

Varsity Boys

Spring Creek’s boys placed fifth in the varsity team standings with 183 points.

Senior Rhett White led his team with a fifth-place performance on a time of 16:23.35.

The Spartans went back-to-back in 33rd and 34th with a 17:46.06 for senior Ethan Arendt and a 17:46.78 by senior William Hardnett.

Junior Isaac Gale paced Wells with a 17:52.88 in 37th place, and senior teammate Cameron Livingstone crossed 57th with a time of 18:32.79.

Spring Creek sophomore Damon Tilger closed his run in 18:34.04 and capped the top 60.

Sophomore teammate Jett Arney placed 67th in 18:43.76.

Junior Ty Rigby finished in 20:10.03 for 118th, and freshman Dallen Hicks rounded out the Spartans’ roster with a time of 20:24.15 in 123rd.

JV Boys 22:01 and Above

In the JV boys division — 22:01 or above — Wells senior Carson Ballard led the local field with a time of 22:04.27 in 23rd place.

Jackpot crossed two runners in a three-athlete span; sophomore Kevin Jack taking 43rd in 22:47.74 and senior Angel Martinez running 45th in 22:48.65.

Wells freshman Weston Sorenson finished in 24:37.05 for 88th place.

Spring Creek sophomore Tanner Larson closed off the Elko County runners in 94th with a time of 25:54.77.

Varsity Girls

Spring Creek placed 17th in the varsity girls team standings with 380 points.

Senior Zoie Starkey led the Lady Spartans with a time of 21:34.26 and rounded off the top 30.

In 65th, senior Sophia Dorohov crossed with a time of 23:25.98.

Sophomore Eve Turpin placed 102nd in 25:28.61, and junior Taylor Pillmore ran a 25:48.16 for 107th.

The Lady Spartans pushed a pair of runners across the line consecutively in 110th and 111th with a 26:25.65 for senior Leah Smith and a 26:29.29 by junior Liliana Howell.

Freshman Hannah Crookston closed off the roster in 123rd with a time of 28:10.80.

Spring Creek will compete in the Royal Run on Saturday, in Roy, Utah.

Wells and Jackpot will race in the Bob Conley Invitational on Oct. 2, in Pocatello, Idaho.
