After flying high against Carlin last Saturday, Wells came back down to earth. The Wells Leopards were dealt a 63-28 defeat at the hands of the Pershing County Mustangs on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Leopards have suffered since February 2, 2024.
Wells dropped their record down to 12-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Pershing County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-13 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wells has already played their next match (against McDermitt), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Pershing County will take on North Tahoe at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. North Tahoe will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Pershing County surely won't give up without a fight.
