BOULDER CITY — While the field of Division 2A Nevada State Cross Country Championships did not contain any Elko County teams, several individuals had strong showings.

Girls

On the girls side, Wells freshman Mille Cromley ran top-10 — finishing ninth with a time of 24:13.7.

West Wendover sophomore Keyla Escareno led the Lady Wolverines — who placed second at regionals but didn’t run enough girls at state for a team score — with a 22nd-place time of 27:02.6.

The Lady Leopards gained another individual qualification from sophomore April Bochman, who ran a 27:02.6 for 27th place.

In 29th, West Wendover senior Alicia Dominguez crossed the line in 31:17.6.

The Lady Wolverines’ roster was capped with a 34th-place 33:38 by sophomore Alexis Miramontes.

Boys

In the boys division, Jackpot senior Jorge Avila Fragoza paced the local field with a 12th-place time of 18:55.

Wells sent three runners across the line in a four-place span from 16th through 19th.

Sophomore Isaac Gale finished 16th in 19:15.1, junior Cameron Livingstone posted a 19:32.9 in 18th and sophomore Mason Noorda followed in 19th with a time of 19:34.2.

West Wendover fielded two athletes; senior Angel Trujillo ranking 22nd with a time of 19:46.1 and sophomore Aiden Benitez crossing in 23:43.1 for 44th.
