BULLHEAD CITY, Arizona — Despite combining for nine qualifiers to the 2A state wrestling tournament, the West Wendover, Wells and Owyhee boys wrestling teams combined for a total of six points.
In the team standings, the Wolverines finished 14th with four points and the Leopards followed in 15th with two points.
Owyhee — with one qualifier — was held scoreless.
Individually, the best local finish was posted by West Wendover sophomore Andre Hernandez — who went 1-2 with a win by fall at 126 pounds for three of the Wolverines’ four points.
West Wendover’s team scoring was capped with one point from fellow sophomore Davian Morales, who finished 1-2 with a win by decision at 157 pounds.
For Wells, freshman Johnny Glascock was 1-2 with a decision victory in the 120-pound class — sophomore Gage Uhlig closing 1-2 with a win by decision in the 138-pound division.
