WELLS — Coming off a 3-1 record during the WREC Classic, the Wells girls basketball team hit a three-game skid.
On Dec. 7, the Lady Leopards lost by 30 against Division 2A North program West Wendover.
Wells dropped a 55-40 home game to Intermountain Christian (Utah) on Dec. 9.
On Thursday, the Lady Leopards — playing in Alamo — were limited offensively in a 44-32 loss to Pahranagat Valley, which avenged a 28-27 overtime defeat on Dec. 1, in Wells.
Versus West Wendover
Against the Lady Wolverines, Wells junior Lillian Harney posted a nice game — pacing Wells with 14 points and eight rebounds and added three steals.
Freshman Khloe DelRio finished with six points, three boards and three takeaways.
Freshman Marli Dahl closed with two points and one rebound.
Wells’ offense was capped with a free throw by junior Gizelle Flores, who led the team with five steals and added two boards and one assist.
Without scoring, junior Callie Brodsho turned in seven rebounds and a dime.
Senior Hannah Prescott recorded two boards, an assist and a steal — freshman Keeli Wakley pulling down one rebound.
Versus Intermountain Christian
On Dec. 9, in a 55-40 loss to Intermountain Christian, the game essentially boiled down to the second and fourth quarters.
Wells led 17-14 after the first period but was outscored in the second 19-15 and trailed 33-22 at the half.
The Lady Leopards maintained the deficit with an 11-11 tally in the third but was outscored 11-7 in the final frame.
Harney led Wells with 18 points and seven rebounds, made two steals and dished an assist.
DelRio also scored in double digits with 15 points, four boards, a dime and a steal.
Flores finished with three points and four rebounds.
Junior Liz Rivera-Casas added two points and topped the team with six assists and three steals.
The offense was rounded out with a free throw each for Brodsho and Michelle Sorensen; Sorenson booking two boards and Brodsho collecting one.
Without points, freshman Aryanna Rodriguez tallied two assists and a steal — Dahl closing with two takeaways.
Versus Pahranagat Valley
On Thursday, the Lady Leopards played the Lady Panthers virtually even — aside from a slow start.
Pahranagat Valley essentially won the ballgame with a 14-3 advantage in the first quarter.
Wells took the second period 11-9 but trailed 23-14 at the break.
In the third quarter, the Lady Panthers ran off an 11-7 advantage — opening a 34-21 lead as the game went to the fourth quarter.
The Lady Leopards claimed the fourth 11-10 but were unable to erase the double-digit margin and fell 44-32.

Wells (3-4 overall) will look to even its record with a road game on Monday, at Wendover (Utah).
